Some of the examples may need updating depending on the times but the examples are still relevant at this time. It covers subjects in enough depth to fulfill the needs of a beginner in Statistics work yet is not so complex as to be overwhelming. This appears to be an excellent textbook for an Introductory Course in Statistics. The author offers to provide an instructor's manual, PowerPoint slides and additional questions. I liked that the Monty Hall problem was included in the probability section. It seems like it would be a good choice for most introductory statistics courses. ![]() I had no problem navigating the text online. Regression comes later in the text but there is a difference of opinions about whether to present it early with descriptive statistics for bivariate data or later with inferential statistics. The topics are presented in the usual order. The text is well organized into sections making it easy to assign individual topics and sections. I found it was easy to read and understand and I expect that students would also find the writing clear and the explanations accessible.Įven with different authors of chapter, the writing is consistent. And the frequent use of male/female examples need updating in terms of current gender splits. In addition, it has some additional topics that are useful. This text covers all the usual topics in an Introduction to Statistics for college students.
